I created the art for Kimiko Tan for NBC’s Emmy Winning 30 ROCK It was so fun to draw in the Anime style for this project. I drew her in Adobe Illustrator.

Superhero Comic Book Illustration 
The Art Director from Elementary on CBS called me to see if I could make some prop comic books for an episode that centered around a vigilante that was inspired by a comic book character called the Midnight Ranger. 
I had to create Midnight Ranger Comic Books over a span of decades. This Design was my interpretation of Midnight Ranger in the 1940s 
I only had about 4 days to create everything so I collected clip art to mix in with my hand drawn illustrations to complete the work on time.1940s

Finding assets that looked like they were from different time periods gave me refrence points for how to draw the Midnight Ranger to help my drawing match the art drawn by the artists who created the stock art. This Comic Book Design is my 1950s version of the Midnight Ranger.

Another Midnight Ranger Comic Book Design – 1970’s 
In the 80s comic books were all about human mutants in spandex. My Midnight Ranger Comic Book Design in the 1980s reflects that trend. 
We needed to see an inside page from the present era so I created something that supported the storyline in the show to help demonstrate how the hero character might be influenced by the comic books he was reading. 
The Midnight Ranger comic books from the present day have more obvious computer color effects.

I am a huge fan of Roy Lichtenstein and I created these illustrations above, inspired by his work. The Hollywood Illustration was for set dressing on The Chappelle Show and the flyer was for comedians I was performing with.
Celebrity Caricatures 
After the produceres saw a prop magazine illustration I made of Michael Weatherly’s character Jason Bull I drew the whole BULL crew after producers asked me to, for a private event, for the cast and crew of the show.

All of these illustrations are of Aliza Sherman who wrote articles for Entrepreneur Magazine on how to use the Internet in your life and business. 
Aliza’s network Webgrrls connected tech savvy women from around the world in friendship and business. 
Her company Cybergrrl hired me to draw the first comic strip to be published online. 
Many women learned how to code and make websites thanks to her very affordable classes. 
Her genius and generosity empowered many women in immeasurable and important ways.
Underground Comic Book Illustration 
I started my career as an underground comic book artist that created a comic book called Bathroom Girls very loosely based on me and my friends in High School. This is Madeline of the Bathroom Girls, the character based on me. 
This is an Illustration of Erika of the Bathroom Girls. She is an amalgam of two friends I had in High School. 
Illustration of Sophie of the Bathroom Girls. She is also an amaglam of other girls I knew with a little bit of my creative and shy side mixed in. 
I created this version of Bathroom Girls for a prop in a new TV Show for NBC.

Sometimes I write alongside my drawings. I don’t sketch as much as I used to.

When I took my sketchbooks on a trip to Paris everyone would ask to see them wherever I went and the people of Paris loved these drawings and would always give me gifts and encouragement to never give up art. 
The people of Paris were so incredibly loving and kind to me because they really love to celebrate art and artists. 
Mermaids are one of my favorite subjects to draw. 
I love the mystery of the Mermaids. 
Mermaids inspire me as a writer too. 
I drew all these mermaids in receipt books inspired by a script I wrote called “Revenge of the Coney Island Mermaids” 
Revenge of the Coney Island Mermaids is about a woman who thinks mermaids are real and actively protecting her from heartbreak by killing anyone who woould break her heart. 
The main character in Revenge of the Coney Island Mermaids is a bartender who sketches in her receipt books during free moments behind the bar. 
The Revenge of the Coney Island Mermaids has a happy ending because I like happy endings.
